TDL-303/303C/303S/303CS Digital Portable Seismographs

  Digital portable seismograph is usually renamed as mobile station. TDL-303/303C/303S/303CS digital portable seismographs are a new generation of mobile digital seismic recorder developed by the Zhuhai Taide Enterprise Co., Ltd. It is designed on the basis of TDE-324CI seismic data acquisition recorder, in compliance with the technical specifications of the Tenth Five-year Program worked out by the China Earthquake Administration, and by considering feedback information from domestic users, drawing lessons and assimilating their experience. It consists of a data acquisition/control motherboard, display unit, an accumulator cell set and a GPS module.

  It follows the latest international trends in electronics design. The newly released state-of-the-art CS537x series 24 bits AD chip, some high performance and low power consumption RISC processor/DSP devices are used.It is also installed with a high reliable real time operating system (RTOS) that is FAA Safety Certified, which is widely used in airplane and spacecraft. It has small cubage (280×230×160 mm),strong function,portable facility.

  TDL-303C digital portable seismograph is designed on the basis of TDL-303 digital portable seismograph, integrates a set of built-in CDMA device with wireless network transmission functionality.

  TDL-303S is built on the TDL-303 by adding solar electric panels to it. It is suitable for use on the site where no electric supply is available or for long period of use outdoor.

  TDL-303CS is built on the TDL-303 by adding a set of built-in CDMA device and solar electric panels to it. It is the integrative version of TDL-303C and TDL-303S.

TDL-303Q Digital Macroseism Accelerometer

  TDL-303Q digital macroseism accelerometer is a new generation of portable mobile digital macroseism motion observation seismograph, developed by Zhuhai Taide Enterprise Co., Ltd. It is built on TDL-303 to meet the requirement of China Earthquake Administration in a project of “The Tenth Five-Year Program” by considering feedback from domestic users and by drawing lessons and assimilating experience. It consists of a 3-direction electronic accelerometer, a data acquisition/control motherboard, a display unit, a storage battery and a GPS module.

  The 3-direction electronic accelerometer of TDL-303Q uses the latest integrated accelerometer chip, to meet the needs of a macroseism measurement for dynamic range. An electronic accelerometer features small volume, low power consumption (< 0.5W), zero fine toning, continuous, stable and reliable operation.

TDL-203 Digital Portable Seismograph

  TDL-203 digital portable seismograph is a set of mobile digital seismic observation recording system. It is built on TDE-324CQ seismic data acquisition system to meet the requirement of mobile digital seismic observation.

  The system has the compact design, simple operation, automatic monitor, many mode power supply, data on-line conservancy, the data IP delivery function etc..

Features:

  TDL-303/303C/303S/303CS/303Q Portable Digital Seismograph has the following features.

  1. The adopted CS537x series 24 bits AD devices are enhanced and upgraded products of the CS532x series widely used in seismic industry during the implementation of the Ninth Five-Year Program. Featuring wider range of dynamic response, lower power consumption, smaller total harmonic distortion (THD), and adjustable, full-scale, programmable 7-level controlled input signals, these devices assures high performance of the system.

  2. Design patterns of high integration and low power consumption are used. The system is integrated with three channels, 24-bit seismic data acquisition, high-volume of electronic hard drive (CF Card) data storage, mobile station status monitoring, multiple signal calibration, button setting, display of digital tube parameters, and system lightning protection. Power consumption when GPS is idle is less than 0.9W.

  3. The calibrated output signals include step signals, sine waves, pseudo-random signal encoding, simulated seismic signal output, and so on. However, for TDL-303 Digital Seismic Mobile Observing Instrument, only pulse step calibration is provided.

  4. The monitoring channel is used to monitor environmental conditions, including environmental parameters such as supply voltage, voltage of the storage battery, and temperatures. The monitoring data flow of the Mobile Station may be transferred to the Station Network Center along with the real time data flow without taking up other data channels, or interrupting other real time data flow to transfer monitoring parameters. A data processing software seperats real time quake data from the monitoring parameters, which are recorded, saved and processed around-the-clock.

  5. The Mobile Station with standard configuration uses a pluggable electronic disc (CF card) to keep semistic data. The CF card has a volume up to 4G. The current equipment with standard configuration provides storage of 512M. A revised SEED-STEIM2 compressed data format is used for data storage, whose data compression rate is high.

  6. Supports TCP/IP protocol. Supports realtime multicast communication based on Internet/VPN netweork protocols; supports RMON services, breakpoint data retransmission, etc. Supports DDN data transmission and wireless/GPRS/CDMA data transmission, supports multiple transmission mode for data networking and shareing on the same platform (including serial port/network); support data request and exchange among multiple Seismograph Networks. Since the data transmission via network is faster than serial port data transmission, the Mobile Station ensures data transimission on Internet of continuality and reliability, meeting the requirement of seismograph network for realtime transmission and regional remote measurement.

  7. For the built-in storage battery to be charged with electricity, a charge/discharge control circuit has been integrated on the data acquisition/control motherboard. When connected to a 12V external power (a 12V switching power supply or a 12V storage battery), the Mobile Station and the accumulator will be provided with electricity under the control of the charge/discharge control circuit. When a 12V power is not connected, the storage battery provides electricity for system through the charge/discharge control circuit. When the seismometer is not connected, the system will work continuously for 36 hours or so, provided that it is supplied with electricity by a built-in storage battery.

  8. Display panel with buttons, LED light and digital display on it provides visual display of parameters status, so that basic operational status might be viewed when no computer is available.

  9. The machine is installed in a high strength, water-proof, sealed chassis.

Operational Principle:

  The principle of the Mobile Station is as follows:

  1. The seismometer-output electrical signals of three directions are sent to acquisition/control motherboard. It is then amplified under programed control to facilitate analogue signal transformation and sent to the A/D to be converted to digital singal. After digital filtering, it is sent to the system main control unit.

  2. The secondary signals, for instance, the internal temperature of the Mobile Station and voltages of the accumulator and supply voltage, when digitalized in A/D, are sent to the system main control unit;.

  3. GPS antenna receives GPS satellite signals, which is processed by GPS module and sent to the system main control unit for Mobile Station timing;.

  4. The system main control unit encapsulates the seismometer data, auxiliary data, timing information and sends the packets to serial port and the network port.

  5. The serial port and the network receive parameters and queries from the upper computer, send the result back to the upper computer and implement fuctions according to the parameters.

  6. System main control unit enables D/A calibration output based on the set time or by corresponding command. Enables calibration-enabled function and GPS control switch.

  7. The system displays current system parameters on the display panel by parameter setting. Optionally results from button setting can display directly on the panel.

  8. The system is configured with a large volume CF card to keep the collected data. By connecting to the network, one can download realtime or triggering data saved by the CF card. The system parameters are saved in a non-volatile memory so that data will not be lost even when the power is off.

  9. The system is configured with a watchdog and implemented with hardware. When the system fails, it can be reset automatically.

  10. The system is low in power consumption. The main power supply of the system is implemented with low voltage, low power consumption devices. The total power consumed by the system is less than 0.9W (with GPS off).

  11. The system is programmed online, i.e. an acquisition/control system utility may be upgraded with a notebook computer through a RS-232 serial port.

  12. The process scheduling system for use with the acquisition/control motherboard inside the Mobile Station is the FAA certified realtime system μC/OS2. The realtim multiple process, created by the process scheduling system, manages A/D data acquisition, D/A processing, DSP signal processing, serial port data flow communication, network communication, data storage, LED display, system timing, on-off control.
